Pre-Apprentice
Student
Head Start into the trades with a paid placement. This 3 month stage includes hands-on tool training with theory included, to develop the trades fundamentals.
Pre-Apprentice
Start counting your trade hours with our certified pre-apprentice program. This 9-month stage includes onsite training with a journeyperson to help build skills in your chosen trade.
1st Year Apprentice
Begin your apprenticeship upon success! Candidates will recieve their Blue Seal Certificate and be signed up for their chosen trade to begin a great career in the skilled trades.
STAGE 1: Skilled Trades Bootcamp
Pre-Apprentice Student
The 3-month classroom and hands-on bootcamp was created to give you all the skills, knowledge, and safety training to ensure you are prepared to begin your trades career. Hosted right from TMG’s onsite Skilled Trades Centre of Excellence, this training centre allows our team to learn and develop all within a safe environment.
Those who successfully complete the bootcamp and pass the evaluation will be offered the opportunity to be work at a specific trade, advancing to the Pre-Apprenticeship stage.
STAGE 2: Skills Rotation
Pre-Apprentice
The 9-month station rotation exposes Pre-Apprentices to various areas and functions within their chosen trade, giving them the experience and confidence to succeed. Here, team members will be exposed to pre-fabrication, welding, machining, rigging, piping, and more, dependent on their trade stream.
Those who successfully complete the Pre-Apprenticeship and pass the evaluation will be offered a TMG Apprenticeship in whichever trade they choose, beginning their trades career as a 1st Year Apprentice.
STAGE 3: Become an Apprentice
Blue Seal Certificate & 1st Year Apprentice
Upon successful completion of the Pre-Apprenticeship stage, you will receive our Blue Seal Certificate and qualify to be a registered apprentice. You can now begin collecting additional hours to write your C of Q and become a registered Journeyperson. Our current trade stream offerings include: 429A – General Machinist, 433A – Industrial Mechanic Millwright, and 437A – Metal Fabricator (Fitter).
Those who begin their apprenticeship at TMG have plenty of career advancement opportunities, including Lead Hand, Foreman, Project Coordinator, Project Manager, Estimator, and more.
